Thank you all for the excellent way you handled my case. To anyone thinking of hiring Mr. O’Rourke for their legal issues, I highly recommend this firm.
Mine was a personal injury case, and I was offered $2,100.00 by the insurance company and the depreciation on my car as a result of the accident was $5,500.00. The insurance company would not talk to me about my concerns.

I am thankful for James O’Rourke and Associates. This has been a long ordeal for me full of anguish and loss. In July 2007, I was in a rear end accident, actually the second of two accidents such as this. I had a metal plate and screws placed in my neck from the first car accident and with this second accident two screws were sheared off from the first plate. I had surgery December of 2007 and two more plates and eight screws were placed in my neck from C2 to C7. I had nerve damage to my right arm and right hand and chronic pain. Through this accident and recovery I went through a divorce and subsequent loss of job and home July of 2008. Through all of this James O’Rourke and his staff were my rock, encouraging me, listening to me and telling me to hang in there. Three years went by as O’Rourke and Associates worked on my case and I struggled to live. Even though I had a pre-existing condition from an earlier surgery, they were still very optimistic and told me that it would all work out.
I would call every week asking for new information so I could continue to stay hopeful. I needed this money. I was living on unemployment and it was running out as Oregon had such a high unemployment economy. My son had moved in from losing his job and my daughter was finishing up in High School. I was expected to be everyone’s rock and take care of everything on $980 a month. I was scared. Every time I felt this fear creeping up on me I would call James O’Rourke’s office. My pain from nerve damage that never went away after surgery, stress of paying rent, electricity, gas and having enough for food and two kids, was debilitating. Yet they never became frustrated with my neediness of “when?” “When would this case be over?”” When would I see the light?”” When would I see some money?” They always took my phone calls and kept my spirits up.
I received the phone call on July 2, 2010. They told me to come into the office to sign the settlement papers. I cried and cried. The case was over. I had received the full amount of $250,000.00. I went to their office and Mr. O’Rourke was waiting for me. He and his staff gave me hugs and were very happy this long wait was over. I walked out of the office with my check in hand, in shock and wondering how my life would change. I was hit by an automobile while riding my motorcycle. I received several injuries but the worst was an open fracture of my small finger. My injuries required two surgeries. I tried to work with the insurance company on my own in order to get all of my medical bills paid. After being lead on by them for some time it became obvious to me that I would have to pay the bills so that they did not go to collections.

Three years ago my husband, myself and our three young children were in a terrible automobile accident. We were headed north on I-5 coming home form a California trip when we came upon a construction zone and had to slow down to 5 mph. Suddenly, we were rear ended by a careless, college driver who was going at least 60 mph. She was playing with her laptop computer while driving and didn’t realize traffic had slowed down. Needless to say, our new Ford Expedition was completely totaled in one hit. We were all taken by an ambulance to a Roseburg hospital. I had to undergo one and half years of intense physical therapy and many other doctor visits for severe whiplash and TMJ. My husband also had much physical therapy for a lower back injury from the accident. Thankfully, our kids were fine.
We would not have made it through this terrible experience without the help of James O’Rourke and his assistant, Cyndi Becker.
